WHAT IS THIS QR CODE STUFF?
A QR (Quick Response) code is a matrix barcode that is readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and smartphones with cameras. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. Scanning the QR code leads the user to the information via embedded text, URL, or other data. You are probably already noticing them on "For Sale" signs around town, in magazine ads, or on print or internet pages.
To try this out on your smartphone. You can download a free app for the iPhone, Android, or MAC as well as others. I use QR Reader. The QR app will not only read a code but can create one for you as well. A scan of this QR code will take you to the website of glass artist Dale Chihuly.
Tip: You can use your smartphone and scan it right from the computer screen or print it out first if viewing from your smartphone.
